What Exactly Does a Nutrition Coach Do?
A nutrition coach is an individual that works in partnership with a client to identify goals and develop a plan to make changes and improvements to the diet, typically in support of enhanced performance or overall health. Nutrition coaches focus on educating clients and implementing strategies for lasting behavioral change, ensuring that those they work with understanding what healthy eating looks, feels, and tastes like!
Responsibilities include:
- effective communication and relationship building with clients
- educating clients on macronutrient uses, micronutrient needs, popular diets and supplements, and developing a healthy eating pattern
- eliciting clients’ desires, needs, strengths, and weaknesses related to lifestyle behaviors
- empowering clients to identify reasonable, lasting changes to support their goals
