SUMMARY:Yoga Foundations Specialty Certification
DESCRIPTION:NETA’s intensive Yoga Foundations blended learning specialty certification includes a two components: a self-paced online module and a live instructor-led clinic.  Participants must complete the Yoga Foundations online module prior to attending the live\, 6-hour pose clinic. \nThe online module provides a practical and interactive experience in teaching beginner yoga formats through learning the basics of class formatting\, yoga history and exploration of the 8 limbs\, anatomy and physiology of the nervous and respiratory systems\, and how to encourage and motivate your participants through verbal refinements and inclusive cuing. The required pose clinic breaks down 20 foundational poses\, focusing on alignment\, safety\, variations\, and breathing\, equipping participants to sequence and lead a beginning-level yoga class. \nThis specialty certification will provide two sample beginning yoga classes as well as time for practice all led by an experienced yoga teacher. DESCRIPTION:The Reformer is a piece of equipment providing more variation and stabilization for Pilates exercises\, assisting the participant better in reaching new heights of strength they may be unable to attain with simple mat work. \nNETA’s progressive course examines the many aspects of Pilates Reformer and teaches you how to safely guide participants through a total body workout. NETA’s Pilates Mat principles will also be reviewed and Reformer-specific exercises will be introduced. You’ll gain both knowledge and skills through classroom instruction\, observation\, exercises and hands-on participation to achieve a 360 view into the world of Pilates Reformer. \nUpon completion of the workshop and the online exam\, you will earn the Specialty Certificate of a Pilates Reformer instructor. \nStart/End Time: \nSaturday: 8:00am—5:00pm | Sunday: 8:00am—2:00pm

Due to these proposed benefits and its low-impact\, scaleable nature\, Pilates is an ideal form of exercise for older adults seeking to maintain strength\, mobility\, and independence. This three-hour workshop will identify and adapt the principles of Pilates for an older crowd\, modifying exercises for a chair-based workout appropriate for all levels. \n
