Yoga Foundations Specialty Certification – Online
Our intensive, two-day Yoga Foundations workshop provides an online, interactive experience in teaching beginner yoga formats through a breakdown of 20 poses focused on alignment, safety, variations and breathing techniques. In addition to the basics of class formatting, you’ll discuss yoga history through exploration of the 8 limbs, learn the anatomy and physiology of the nervous and respiratory systems, as well as discover ways to encourage and motivate your participants through verbal refinements and inclusive cuing. Each participant will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one feedback from an experienced instructor as well as the opportunity to interact with fitness professionals across the country.
*Yoga Foundations can be taken as a stand-alone certification to teach yoga classes and/or can be taken as the first course working toward the advanced 200 Hour Yoga Program approved by Yoga Alliance.
**In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, Yoga Alliance has temporarily approved remote instruction as an acceptable form of contact hours from Registered Yoga Schools (RYSs) effective immediately until June 30th. Please visit https://www.yogaalliance.org/Get_Involved/COVID-19_Resources for more information regarding this temporary provision.
Participants in the Yoga Foundations Online Workshop must have access to a device capable of connecting to a Zoom conference meeting, to include webcam capabilities. Adequate space to participate in a master class and pose clinic is necessary (roughly the size of a standard yoga mat).
