Pilates for Older Adults: 11:30am–2:30pm CDT

Pilates has been a tried-and-true exercise format since its induction in 1920’s, seeing boosts in popularity throughout history. 2023 brought a huge resurgence in Pilates as the format consistently provides a low-impact, challenging means of improving physical and mental health while reducing risk of injury and developing physical asthetic and a strong foundation for complex movements. Due to these proposed benefits and its low-impact, scaleable nature, Pilates is an ideal form of exercise for older adults seeking to maintain strength, mobility, and independence. This three-hour workshop will identify and adapt the principles of Pilates for an older crowd, modifying exercises for a chair-based workout appropriate for all levels.
