Pilates is a method of conditioning that develops muscular strength, flexibility, and endurance. Created by Joseph Pilates, he believed that in order to achieve happiness, one must gain mastery of their own body. The benefits of Pilates exercise include enhanced body control, improved posture and alignment, improved balance and proprioception, and improved concentration and focus. NETA’s Advanced Pilates Mat Specialty Certification is for instructors and trainers seeking to enhance their knowledge of Pilates practice and expand their class programming and instruction. This workshop will provide a detailed review of Pilates principles, and how to apply these principles to mat exercises using equipment such as Pilates rings and bands. Upon completion of the workshop and online exam, participants will earn the NETA Specialty Certification of an Advanced Pilates Mat instructor.
