Yoga Foundations Specialty Certification
Get started on your Yoga Instructor Certification today. Our intensive, two-day Yoga Foundations workshop provides hands-on experience in teaching beginner yoga formats, equipping participants with the basics of understanding a yoga practice and how to program and instruct a class. Yoga Foundations provides a thorough breakdown of 20 poses focused on foundation, alignment, purpose, safety, variations and refinements. Breathing techniques and linking movement-to-breath teaches participants how to effectively cue in order to create a mindful experience. NETA’s Yoga Foundations presents a vinyasa-style of yoga, linking breath to movement to create sequence blocks and progressing students through each stage of a cohesive class.
Participants will learn the basics of sequencing, using the 20 foundational poses covered in Yoga Foundations, to ensure a well-balanced class. In addition to the basics of class formatting, you’ll discuss yoga history through exploration of the 8 limbs, go in-depth into the anatomy and physiology of the nervous and respiratory systems, as well as present current scientific research on the proposed benefits of yoga. Participants will discover ways to encourage and motivate your participants through verbal refinements and inclusive cuing.
This yoga specialty certification will provide two sample beginning yoga classes for participants to experience different formatting and teaching styles, as well as ample time for practice teaching under the supervision of an experienced yoga teacher. Upon completion of the two-day Yoga Foundations workshop, participants are equipped to program, instruct, and inspire students through a safe and effective yoga class.
Yoga Foundations can be taken as a stand-alone specialty certification to achieve your yoga instructor certification and teach yoga classes and/or can be taken as the first course to work toward NETA’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.
