Congratulations! You are now a certified Wellness Coach and are eager to get started helping people change their lives. Now what? You may feel overwhelmed by the task of building your client base. Don’t worry – here are a few simple tips to follow to being well on your way to finding new clients.
Use Your Listening Skills
As you know, listening skills and working collaboratively with clients is one of the most important skills to being a successful wellness coach. Put these skills to practice and listen, listen, listen! You’ll be surprised to hear how many people in your daily life mention health, wellness, and possibly the desire to become healthier. When you hear others bring up the topic, don’t be afraid to jump in and offer your services. You are now certified and qualified – have confidence and be ready to market yourself during conversations with people you know well and people you just met.
Use Your Connections
Because many Certified Wellness Coaches are already fitness professionals, you will most likely already have contacts in this professional who would be willing to help you out. Ask your colleagues and friends if they have clients who have expressed the desire to work with a wellness coach, and encourage them to give their clients your name and contact information.
Market Yourself
Tell everyone you know the exciting news that you are now a Certified Wellness Coach! Again, you never know who is looking to improve their health and wellness, and new connections may pop up in casual conversations at any moment. Also, if possible, prepare marketing materials for yourself, including business cards and fliers. Ask your local gyms and clubs, clinics, and small businesses if you can leave a few of these materials at their front desk.
Social media is also an effective way to market yourself. Creating social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) for your services will allow you to showcase what you have to offer to clients. Paid posts on these platforms can spread your message to individuals you might not otherwise reach with fliers and business cards.
