“34 % of U.S. adults said they are thinking about trying yoga in the next 12 months”
If you’ve been thinking about adding Yoga Teacher Training to your bucket list, this is a great time to do it. There are more than 36 million yoga practitioners in the U.S. today, and that number is growing. Flexibility, stress reduction and general fitness are all reasons practitioners give for starting – and sticking with – a yoga practice. Furthermore, many who aren’t practicing now, are thinking about picking up yoga. When asked, 34 % of U.S. adults said they are thinking about trying yoga in the next 12 months. ¹ You know how much yoga has changed your life, and now you want to help others achieve the rewards of a regular yoga practice. You may be asking yourself — What should yoga teacher training include? Will I have time to commit to the schedule? It can be hard to know what to look for in a good yoga teacher training program. Read on for 6 great reasons to choose NETA’s yoga teacher training program.
-
It’s Convenient.
NETA’s yoga teacher training program consists of 12 training modules: five 2-day workshops, five 1-day workshops, 20 hours of independent study, and culminates with a 3-day advanced training. Workshops are offered on weekends, and each workshop can be taken as a standalone certification. NETA’s modular program allows students to complete certification at their own pace and at multiple locations.
-
It’s Inclusive.
As a prospective yoga teacher, it’s important to be prepared to teach to diverse populations and to a variety of fitness levels. Yoga Foundations is the first of the required trainings in the full 200 hour program. In this training, you’ll learn the fundamentals of designing and teaching safe yoga classes that are suitable for most levels. From there, you’ll take trainings that will prepare you to teach seniors, kids, pregnant women, and participants with special needs and conditions. You’ll also learn sequencing options to teach to advanced practitioners looking to improve their overall fitness through yoga. We believe yoga is for everybody, and we’re committed to helping you learn how to make yoga accessible for all of your future participants, through a comprehensive teacher training program.
-
It compliments other fitness certifications.
As you complete each yoga training, you’ll not only earn a new specialty certification, you’ll earn Continuing Education Credits that can be applied towards the renewal of other NETA certifications (and certifications from other fitness organizations). This makes it easy to earn CECs to keep your fitness certifications current while working towards the 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher designation.
-
You’ll gain teaching experience while learning.
Our training modules include pose clinics where you’ll learn correct cueing and alignment for more than 100 poses. You’ll experience a master class at each training and will have an opportunity to participate in practice teaching so that you can start to build your yoga teaching skills while you learn.
-
It’s Yoga Alliance Approved.
Yoga Alliance is the gold standard for yoga teacher training programs. To receive accreditation status, Yoga Alliance requires that all teacher training programs include Teaching Methodology, Anatomy and Physiology, Yoga Philosophy, and a practicum (hands-on) component. NETA has been designated as a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level.
-
You don’t have to commit to the full 200 hours.
If you’re not ready to take the plunge into a full 200 hour yoga teacher training program, you don’t have to. Since each certification can be taken as a standalone training, you can pick and choose the trainings that best suit your interest and teaching goals.
